INTERLAGOS (BRA) – It was an intense and thrilling final round of the World

ProSpeed WEC Bahrein14 Porsche911GT3RSR75 1Endurance Championship (aka WEC) in Brazil. The last race of the World Championship had all the traits of a thriller; not only up front where Porsche clinched its first ever victory in LM P1, but also in the LM GTE Am class. It was in this class that ProSpeed Competition had entered a Porsche 911 RSR for the French trio comprised out of François Perrodo, Manu Collard and Matthieu Vaxivière. Following a strong performance put in by the trio, although at times flavoured with several race incidents and a puncture, the Belgian team rounded off the season with a top-5 in a heavily fought class. ProSpeed Competition can look back on an excellent initial campaign in this World Championship, with amongst others a pole position in the USA and a podium place in Japan.

ProSpeed WEC Bahrein14 Porsche911GT3RSR75 2Brazil was the grand finale of a great initial year for the Belgian team in this highly competitive endurance world championship. With the arrival of the brand new Porsche 991 RSR during the second half of the championship ProSpeed Competition clearly confirmed that it had its place on the highest level in endurance racing. That initial season ended with a 5th place, but throughout the entire race it was clear that speed was on hand and in combination with strong teamwork a second World Championship podium could most undoubtedly well have been on the books.

Rudi Penders (ProSpeed Competition Team Principal)

ProSpeed WEC Bahrein14 Porsche911GT3RSR75 3"There are two items I would like to raise before going in on the actual competition. In the first instance I wish to congratulate Porsche for their first victory in LM P1 in the WEC. In the second this event is once again full proof of the high level on which this world championship, the WEC, finds itself. Here there were between 50 à 60.000 spectators, the organisation was very good, the atmosphere in the grandstands cold not have been more Brazilian and the race itself, from start to finish, was a pleasure to follow. Our competition went through two different facets, starting off in the first place with the extremely fast work put in by our drivers, whereby on pure speed we were able to fully keep to the pace of the Aston Martin and Ferrari, but on the other a few race facets and a puncture held us back from clinching a possible podium. Our car was nudged by a faster Prototype, who was penalised, and later on we were penalised with a drive-through following another race incident. Regarding the latter incident it remains a subject for discussion, but we found the penalty unjustified."

François Perrodo (Driver - #75 ProSpeed Porsche 911 RSR LM GTE Am)

ProSpeed WEC Bahrein14 Porsche911GT3RSR75 4"Somewhat later I had a puncture, which cost us additional time. On top of that I hadn't completed my full driving time, which meant that shortly after that I had to come back in once again. That rather put a damper on, what overall, was a strong race. In the initial phase we climbed up from 7th into 4th place, after which we had our sights on a podium, but the facts as cited previously implied that we had to content ourselves with a 5th place in this thrilling finale. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team for the entire year we have been through together"

Matthieu Vaxivière (Driver - #75 ProSpeed Porsche 911 RSR LM GTE Am)

"ProSpeed WEC Bahrein14 Porsche911GT3RSR75 MVaxiviere FrPerrodoIt was extremely enjoyable to be able to compete with the Porsche on this mythical circuit. Not only because of the location, Interlagos is such a typical old school circuit, but also on account of the new layer of asphalt that offered up far more grip. Our Porsche handled really well and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent at the wheel.
